Artist Statement

Hi, I’m Fifi—a self-taught abstract painter based in California. “Fifi” is the name I paint under, a reflection of the softer, expressive side of me that emerges through color and form. I work primarily with acrylics and occasionally incorporate mixed media to express what I feel, sense, and imagine. Since beginning my professional art journey in 2024, I’ve been honored to have my work recognized in several juried competitions.

From childhood, I was drawn to art, but only later did I realize its deep impact on my identity. My artistic journey began with portraiture, where I honed my precision, but over time, I found freedom in abstract expressionism. Through dynamic textures and layered colors, I translate emotions into visual landscapes, inviting viewers into a world of depth, movement, and connection.

My paintings are deeply inspired by the beauty and energy of nature—botanical shapes, rocky textures, flowing water, shifting light, and the vibrant colors I encounter in the world. I paint intuitively, letting each piece unfold through layers of color, marks, and texture using brushes, palette knives, squeegees, and even my hands.

Through my art, I hope to offer a sense of calm and wonder—a quiet space where you can pause, reflect, and connect.
